3 years ago, I was asked to step in and shoot photos for the Firefighter’s Ball in Springfield, Ohio. Although it was something a bit out of my comfort zone, I was really excited to be a part of a great event in my hometown. I love celebrating our town and showing how great Springfield, Ohio is!
I had no idea what to expect for the ball and truly wasn’t equipped to photograph it properly. I ended up borrowing a backdrop from a Dayton, Ohio photographer that I had met in a facebook group. I purchased a new flash and a new light stand with umbrella to go with the set I already owned. And then I practiced and prayed I would be prepared enough to do a great job.
It ended up going great! I met amazing friends and caught up with new friends. And now, a couple years later, these same friends come back to ball and I get to catch up with them. Some have lost weight…..way to go! Some are now engaged or married….congratulations! And some have had babies or been promoted and all kinds of other wonderful life events.
These amazing people have become a special part of my year and I’m incredibly honored to photograph them each year! I couldn’t imagine not being a part of this event and I’m so grateful to the Springfield Professional Firefighters for having me back!! THANK YOU!!!!
