Today was a marble run kind of day. Have you ever played with it? It’s this set of plastic pieces that loop and twist. There’s wheels pieces to make it taller. And then there’s the marbles. It’s kind of awesome and super fun to build with your kids.
Several months ago Michael and I started having special play time as recommended by his counselor. At Becky’s office there was a marble run set that he loved to play with and as a special surprise I bought him one to play with at home together. It was just for Michael and I to play together, but all the kiddos have loved it! Definitely a toy that is worth the expense!
I think I got it on a black Friday kind of sale from Amazon. You can check out amazon for your own marble run set: https://www.amazon.com/Marble-Runs/b?ie=UTF8&node=2522040011 I’m pretty sure that I will be buying another set to add on to this one.
My biggest problem with it is that there are so many pieces and tiny marbles. They can easily get scattered and lost if you don’t make sure to have the kids pick up right after they finish playing with it. It hasn’t been a huge issue, but there has to be a storage bin that would make it easier to keep all the pieces. If you have a storage idea, leave me a comment and a link 🙂
Added warning: Your kids have to be old enough to not put marbles in their mouths and all that. We had a set a few years ago that my mom picked up at a garage sale and ended up tossing it because they were too young. Marbles were everywhere and it was more of a nuisance than a fun toy. Now that the youngest is almost 5, though, it’s awesome 🙂
